My Boys

A short post today... I am tired and ready for bed, as it will be an early morning for me and a trip to school for the majority of my day. I look forward to getting a lot done and hopefully not feeling as stressed by the time I get home tomorrow afternoon.

One fun story before I get out of here.... Tonight I took Bandit to get the mail with me. The mailboxes are at the front of the complex, and I live at the back. Well, we made our way there and all the mailboxes are in this little shelter/house thing. We went to go inside and I looked down, and about 2 feet away from me in the corner of the shelter was a raccoon. Now, I have heard of vicious raccoon attacks and did not want this to happen to me or my dog. Luckily, Bandit didn't bark or anything, but was definitely pulling and sniffing to see what this was. I pulled Bandit away and we backed, slowly and quietly away. We went across the parking lot and waited. Finally, the little guy waddled out of the shelter and into the night. We were able to get the mail safely and without any attacks. It was definitely the closest I have ever been to a raccoon and I don't think I really want to ever be that close to one again. It startled me and I am glad that I was able to remain calm and not run away screaming, like a little part of me wanted to do :)
