No Excuse

So, I really don't have an excuse for not posting since Friday. I guess I will blame it on being lazy. I worked on Saturday at Hallmark and yesterday I spent the day with my roommate and my sister shopping. Before you get your panties in a twist about my budget and shopping, I get $100 from my PTO to reimburse some of the things I buy for my classroom and that is mainly what I bought. I did buy some cookies from Blue Chip and some things from Archivers. Last time I went to Archivers I spent almost $150.00 , but this time I spent less than $20! I would say it was a good shopping day. I will try to take some pictures of my spoils and put them up here in the next few days. I also finished a card for my nephew's birthday (He's turning 4), which is on Saturday. I will try to get a picture of that and put it up. I love how it turned out!

Tonight was doggy class and Bandit did ok. Not as good as last time, but he seemed very distracted. We didn't get a walk in this morning due to some storms and he spent the majority of the day in his kennel while I was at work, so I think that had something to do with it. He is doing great with sit/stay, wait, and leave it. We worked on a new command called stand/stay. It's just like sit/stay, but they stand. This can be used when they are at the groomers or when you need them to stand up while you brush them. Bandit really struggled with this one because he is so used to sitting on command, that he was confused why he was standing up. The thing we learn is to teach them to sit and then "release" them from that command when we give them the treat. So, Bandit is used to hearing "ok" after he sits which triggers him to stand up. He was really confused because we wanted him to stand, but not "release" him from the command. So, he would sit and I would put the treat at his mouth and slowly pull it away so he would stand (or that is how it would be in theory). Instead, he liked to do this little scoot thing while sitting instead of just standing to get the treat. It is definitely something we need to work on.

Not much else going on in my life. I have to work tomorrow, Wednesday, Thursday, then I will be going to school to finish painting, then working on Saturday. I am not sure about next week (I don't have it memorized). So, it's a busy week, but I will try to keep you posted with everything. Have a great night!!
